The Bengaluru Police are mulling registering FIRs against those who file false complaints, tagging the police commissioner on social media. This comes in the wake of an avalanche of such complaints, but turned out to be a hoax. So, the cops have warned against such misadventures. 

The police have said that such complainants have to visit the nearest police station and depose themselves. 

In addition to this, the police have also warned people not to post any content that has the potential to create a rift in the society and create needless controversies.  

It might be recalled that the newly formed Karnataka government had asked the police to keep a strict vigil on any content that incites people and creates unrest in the society. 

However, it should also be noted that the social media has played a pivotal role in easing the lives of people, by creating an even field.
